Who is Centenary Rubber Limited Company?

We are a sustainable agricultural and environmental conservation company specializing in planting, nurturing and harvesting of Rubber tree Plantations (Latex) on behalf of customers who have expressed interest to plant rubber trees. This is what we call group farming. The company consists eleven (11) Directors and three (3) Board of Directors.

What is the maturity period for the rubber tree?

It takes approximately six (6) years for rubber tree to be matured under good environmental conditions.

What are some of the activities involved in planting rubber trees?

Land acquisition, weeding, removal of lightly wooded lots (other trees) and tree stumps, burning, line and pegging, purchase of grafted rubber seedlings, planting, weeding (slashing), fertilizer applications, tapping of rubber sap etc.

What are some of the uses of the rubber sap?

Products made from rubber sap include car tires, mattresses, rubber gloves, rubber bands, animal mats, trash cans, bottle openers, rubber chairs, flower pots, shoe soles, hot water bottles, balloons, rubber boots, conveyor belts etc

What are the processes involved in registering to plant rubber trees for clients?

    4. Mobile money (AirtelTigo and Telecel numbers provided) relating to the number of rubber trees to be planted.
  • Fill Form A (Personal Details) and form B ( Agreement / Contract Farming)
  • Deposit slip number / Transaction ID added to complete registration.
  • Alert message is received as transaction is completed.

  • Is the rubber tree similar to other trees?

    Yes, they are very similar however, each tree has its own benefits. Rubber tree is one of the main cash crops in Ghana.

    How many kilograms of rubber sap can one tree produce in a year?

    In a year, a rubber tree produces approximately 8.0 kg of sap for the first four years. The rubber trees are tapped (harvested) according to various panels in years. The quantity of latex produced increases over years. In a year, two (2) months are exempted from tapping due to dry weather conditions, break for workers and other similar reasons.

    How much is a kilo and a ton of rubber sap?

    Prices of rubber sap differs within each month. The price is determined by the Governing agencies responsible for cash crops for export. Fortunately, prices have been increasing over the past years

    How much does it cost to plant one rubber tree for a period of six (6) years under this project?

    Currently, it costs one hundred Ghana cedis GH¢ 100.00 to plant one rubber tree and this include the land, weeding, nursed rubber tree, fertilizer application etc. Prices may increase with time as prices of goods and services increase.

    What are the advantages of group farming projects?

  • It saves time. One can use the time of going to the farm for other important activities like attending wedding, funeral, family meetings, attending School and other working activities whiles we farm on your behalf.
  • It saves money. Transportation to and fro the farm site, water and food cost is always reduced since few people can supervise the entire work on behalf of clients who may not have to be there during certain periods of time.
  • With less amount of money, one can still plant rubber trees hitherto was impossible. Farm tools and equipment purchased in bulk (wholesale) are always less expensive than individual clients purchasing at retail price.
  • It enables the farm company to stock more tools and equipment so prices surge may not be affected. Example is fertilizer, spraying machines, rubber sap cups, spouts, galvanized wires, cutlasses, tapping knives, wellington boots etc
